Celebration of Life will be Live-Streamed on Thursday, March 25, 2021 - at 11:30 AM EST. Visit the Tribute Wall above to view the Live/Recorded Webcast. Trannie H. Bailey, daughter of the late Frank Harris and Juanita (Harris) Hagans was born on Friday, November 28, 1941, in Jacksonville, Florida, and departed this life on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, after a brief illness in St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, Paterson, New Jersey. Trannie started her education in the Jacksonville Florida Public School System, she graduated from Stanton High School with honors as the salutatorian, she attended Edward Waters College and graduated from Brewster-Duval School of Nursing. She and her husband, Bobby E. Bailey, met as teenagers in Jacksonville, Florida, and married in 1961. After working a few years as a registered nurse in Brewster Hospital, she and Bobby moved to Paterson, New Jersey, in 1964. Trannie continued her nursing career in New Jersey, working at Barnert Memorial Hospital as a Labor and Delivery Nurse then later at Daughters of Miriam as a Supervising Nurse. After 52 years of service as a RN, Trannie retired from Daughters of Miriam and subsequently began working at Caring of Prospect Park, an Adult Daycare, as the Director of Nursing. Trannie was well known for her cooking. Anyone and Everyone who came to her house were welcome to pull up a chair at her table to enjoy her cooking. She would watch your expression when you started to eat because she knew how good her cooking was and she was proud of that. Trannie grew up in the church and was always a faithful member. She loved to sing and was very good at harmonizing with her children, family, choir, and church members. She was a longtime member of The Church of Living God United located at 238 Summer Street, Paterson, New Jersey. While a member of the church, Trannie served as the secretary, treasurer, and assistant to the pastor, her late grandfather, Bishop Robert Littlejohn. Trannie, known to older family members as “Trannie Bell”, was a very loving, kind person, loved by all. She was a God-fearing woman that loved her family unconditionally. She had a lot of friends throughout the years, too many to name. Lifetime friends, Gloria (Jacksonville, Florida), Mae (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) Jerri (Paterson, New Jersey) and extended daughter, Cathie (Clifton, New Jersey), and extended granddaughter, Keyla (Morris Township, NJ). She is preceded in death by grandparents, parents (mentioned above), uncles, Clarence Harris, Eustes Harris, Walter “Doub” Littlejohn, William Littlejohn, aunt, Gladys “Antee” Brown, and siblings Frank Harris Jr. and Sandra Jackson. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband of 60 years, Bobby E. Bailey, son, Mark Bailey (Lori), daughter, Jackie Bailey-Castro (Andre), all of Paterson New Jersey. Sisters, Mary, Joann (Dwayne), Debbie, Joyce (Robi), all of Jacksonville Florida, Judy of Atlanta Georgia, and Tonette of Pensacola Florida. Grandchildren, Sabrina, Clecia, Angelina, Diane, all of New Jersey, Deshawn (Michigan), Nefertari (Alabama). Aunt Helen of New Jersey, Uncle Fred (Faye) of South Carolina and a host of cousins (Harris & Littlejohn) nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Even during times of social distancing, anyone who has suffered a loss deserves love and support more than ever before. Let the family know you care by leaving treasured memories, thoughts and prayers on the Tribute Wall.
