Larry D'Errico

February 19, 1925 - March 26, 2012

D'ERRICO Larry D'Errico passed away peacefully at home in Paterson, NJ on Monday March 26, 2012. He was 87 years old. Born in Paterson he was a life long resident, he was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Paterson NJ. He was one of the founding members of the Riverside Veteran's of Hawthorne, NJ. Larry served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He played football for the "Modern Central" football team from 1937 to 1943. The team compiled a record of 55 wins and 1 loss. In 1997 the entire football team was inducted into the Old Timers Athletic Association of Greater Paterson Sports Hall of Fame. He is predeceased by his wife the former Elizabeth "Betty" nee Lembo in 1990. He was also predeceased by his brothers Peter. Frank. Matthew, Vincenzo (aka Jimmy or Turk) and sisters Annie Salerno, Mary Connolly, and Antoinette D'Errico. He is survived by his sons James and his wife Maria of Wayne NJ, and Joseph and his wife Joanne of Clifton. His sisters Lucy Angele of Haledon NJ, and Marge Burke of Little Falls, NJ. His grandchildren Amy and Lou Pellegrini, Julie and Adam Palazzolo, Jeremy and Kim D'Errico, Jonathan, Amanda, and Brianna, and his great-grandchildren Zak Pellegrini. A.J. Palazzolo and Dean Palazzolo also survive him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday at 8:45 AM from the Scillieri Funeral Home 351 Fifth Avenue Paterson with a Mass of Resurrection celebrating his life at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church at 9:30 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Totowa.
