Grullon-Burgos There are angels walking among us all, but it is not till they depart that we realize they were here guiding us, and doing God's work. Our dearest Keyla was taken from us on January 22, 2021 after fighting a long and silent battle with cancer, and though she has departed, reminders of her strength, tenacity and deep love remain. The middle child of three sisters, Keyla was the glue that often times held things together and mended bonds in all parts of her life. She graduated Rutgers University with honors during undergrad and most recently with her Master's in Public Health. Her passions were deeply rooted in selflessness, overcoming obstacles and female empowerment. She was happiest when surrounded by those she loved...and whenever Dave East, Megan the Stallion or Cardi B were on rotation. Keyla lives on through her mother, father, siblings, and the legacy she left behind for her beloved niece Allison, nephew Aziel and fur-baby Leyla. She will also remain an irreplaceable piece in all of the friendships she made. Though we are sad and and deeply broken, we are proud to say that in true Keyla form she fought hard, the way only a true Taurus could. May her testimony be a reminder to be kind, forgive and always love and live hard, just the way she did. En Memoria de Keyla L. Grullon-Burgos Hay angeles caminando entre nosotros, pero no es hasta que parten que realizamos que estaban aquí para guiarnos. Nuestra querida Keyla se nos fue el 22 de Enero, 2021 después de pelear una larga y silenciosa batalla contra el cáncer y aunque ya no está con nosotros, tenemos los recuerdos de su amor, fuerza y tenacidad. La segunda de tres hermanas, Keyla era el pegamento que muchas veces mantenía las cosas juntas y remendaba lazos en todas las partes de su vida. Se graduó de Rutgers University con honores y más recientemente con una Maestría en Salud Pública. Sus pasiones estaban profundamente arraigadas en la generosidad, la superación de obstáculos y el empoderamiento femenino. Siempre estaba feliz con sus seres amados y cuando Dave East, Megan Thee Stallion o Cardi B estaban sonando. Keyla vive en su madre, padre, hermanas y la legacia que deja para su adorada sobrina Allison, su sobrino Aziel y su perrita Leyla. También seguirá siendo una pieza insustituible en todas las amistades que hizo. Aunque estamos tristes y rotos por su partida, estamos orgullosos de decir que en forma típica de Keyla, ella luchó hasta el final, en la única manera que una verdadera Tauro pudiera luchar. Que su testimonio sea un recordatorio de ser amable, perdonar y siempre amar y vivir duro, tal como ella lo hizo.
