Jerome Deas

October 24, 1955 - August 19, 2021

Jerome Deas was born October 24, 1955 to Frank and Inez Deas. He attended Paterson Public School #10 and was in the graduating class of 1974 at Eastside High School. He was a member of New A.M.E. Zion church in Paterson. He served in the United States Army from 1976-1978. Jerome enjoyed singing, dancing, and spending time with family. Jerome loved to dance and he was most known for his famous dance called “bacon and egg”. He truly loved his family. His favorite saying was “First cousins are really sisters and brothers.” Jerome always greeted everyone with a hug and his million dollar smile. In February 1986, he married the love of his life Eloise Jones. He was predeceased by his wife Eloise Jones Deas, parents Frank and Inez Deas; Sister Francine Deas, step-son Jevele Jones. He leaves behind to cherish and celebrate his life, three sons, Jareau and Jerome Denar Deas, Paterson, Shane McDermott, daughter Frances McDermott, granddaughter Aubriella McDermott, Vineland, NJ, step daughter KeWanna Jones-Ortiz (Jose), step grandchildren Bria and Kaylin Griffin and Brysen Ortiz, Sumter, SC; brother Ralph Deas (Thelma) Hephzibah, GA, Kim Thompson god-sister and devoted friend Sandra Wilson Paterson, NJ. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends as well as his Church family. Jerome was loved by all and will truly be missed. Even during times of social distancing, anyone who has suffered a loss deserves love and support more than ever before.
