Ishmael Lamar Flemming was born on April 25, 1986 in Paterson, New Jersey. He is the son of Charles Flemming and Nancy (Williams) Flemming. Ishmael started his educational journey at St. Theresa’s Catholic School and School 9 in South Paterson, New Jersey and graduated High School from Passaic County Technical Vocational High School in 2004 where he excelled in academics. He continued his excellence in education at Montclair State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems. Ishmael’s immense passion, creativity, and drive attributed to achieving numerous accolades. Up to the time of his passing, Ishmael was an Inside Account Manager at SHI International Corporation. On March 3, 2021, Ishmael went home to be with the Lord. Ishmael was only 34 years old when he departed this earth. But knowing Ish, he was going where the party was – he followed God’s Angels to Heaven where he now resides. Ishmael was a generous and loving soul. He traveled the world and lived to the fullest. Ishmael had a love for all things creative – fashion, art, music, photography, design, and culture. He was well-rounded and loved to meet people and listen to their stories. Ishmael was the life of the party. One of his famous quotes was “walk in like you own the place.” He was always there when anyone needed him. Ishmael was very independent and responsible. He had a great sense of humor, a laugh that lit up the entire room, and an energy that would liven any space. His altruistic nature clothed Ishmael with a spirit of patience. His forward-thinking granted Ishmael inner peace and understanding. Ishmael was wise beyond his years, so much that everyone looked to him for advice and valued his opinion. Ishmael was family-oriented and lived a prosperous and fulfilling life. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Bernice Mims, David Flemming and Elizabeth Flemming and his brother Charles Flemming Jr. Ishmael leaves to cherish his memories, his parents Charles and Nancy Flemming of Rex, GA; two brothers, Kerwin Flemming of Atlanta, GA and Jaquice Flemming of Rex GA; one sister-in-law, Clintisha Flemming of Atlanta, GA; one nephew Uriah Flemming of Atlanta, GA; one niece Zoey Flemming of Atlanta, GA; two uncles, Tyrone Williams of Ellenwood, GA, Lawrence Mims of Paterson, NJ; five aunts, Eloise Johnson of South Carolina, Carrie Flemming and Shirley Flemming of Paterson, NJ, Wardene Dowdy-Williams of Mcdonough, GA and Pamela Brown of Clifton, NJ; and a host of cousins and friends. Even during times of social distancing, anyone who has suffered a loss deserves love and support more than ever before.
