Betty Marchitto

June 12, 1921 - December 14, 2011

Betty Marchitto (nee Scillieri) passed away at her home on December 14, 2011. Age 90. Born in Paterson, moving to Prospect Park 71 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Paul RC Church, Prospect Park, and a member of the Parish Rosary Society. She was a former PTA President of Prospect Park School Systems. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Dept.  She was also Chairwoman of the American Heart Society and the March Of Dimes. She is survived by her Beloved Husband Alfred J. Marchitto Sr. and her children, Alfred J Jr. and wife Carmela, of Franklin Lakes, NJ, and Richard L. of Rockaway, NJ, She is also survived by her sisters, Jean Amico of Paterson, and Katherine Vega of Lodi, and her grandchildren, Gina, Christina, Karen, Briana and Jason, and great grandchildren, Olivia, Natalie, and Luke. Funeral Services will take place on Monday at 8:45AM from the Scillieri Funeral Home with a Mass of Resurrection at 9:30AM, at St. Paul RC Church, Prospect Park. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. In Lieu of Flowers, Donations may be made to the Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Dept. or to St Paul RC Church, Prospect Park.
